Awesome Artists: Saint Motel

Well hey again Deviants! It’s been a few weeks since the last Awesome Artists post was up so it’s time for me to get things back on track for all of you.

For this edition I’ve decided to highlight a band that I started getting into late last year (and relatively late to the game) Saint Motel. Saint Motel has been around for a few years now has flown relatively under the radar in the years since their inception. A band hailing from Los Angeles they have a fun blend of rock, pop, instrumental and some techno inspired sounds. The band has a reminiscent feel to the 70’s sound with an upbeat attitude and fun songs to get your groove on to. Many of their songs (which is a pretty small catalog at this point) have great music videos to go with them that are extremely well made and enjoyable to watch. Their song Benny Goodman is great to get your retro dance moves out and jam to with your friends in the living room with its Motown inspired groove and positive feel. Cold Cold Man is a playful song with a great piano driven backdrop to a playful song to rock around with. The song that opened my eyes to this fantastic band was My Type which I could never fall out of love with. It’s an extremely well written song with a simple premise of finding some love with such a happy musical back drop and up tempo, it’s too catchy not to dance to. Go check out some of their songs on YouTube to get the full experience or go out and listen to their LP or a couple of their EP’s and get ready to groove.

Well that’s all I have for you all this week so be sure to let me know what you thought of this band in the comments below or of any other bands that you think I should check out. Don’t forget to keep checking back for more new material and stay awesome out there Deviants!
